Mo does your paperwork in the background.

For small companies on Xero, sole traders and landlords. He matches bills to bank payments and lists the receipts still missing. If a supplier’s bank details change, he holds the bill.

  • Nothing goes into Xero until you say yes
  • Never moves money
  • Never asks for your bank password
  • In tests, not live yet

How it works

Three steps. The matching is his.

  1. 01

    Connect Xero, once

You sign in on Xero’s own page. Then forward your bills and receipts to your own Stubzo address as they arrive.

  2. 02

    Drop in your bank statement

Xero won’t share your bank lines with other apps. So once a week, you or your bookkeeper download them from Xero as a file and upload it here.

  3. 03

    Say yes

Mo matches each bill to its payment. Say yes, and it goes into Xero as a draft, receipt attached. When he isn’t sure, he asks you first. Then in Xero you approve the draft and OK the match on the bank screen, as you do now.

Your partForward bills, upload the bank file once a week, tap yes.

His partFind each payment, attach the receipt, list what’s missing.

Works with Xero. QuickBooks and Sage: not yet.

Why not just Xero?

Xero can read bills you forward. It suggests bank matches too. That’s free on every UK business plan. If that’s enough for you, you don’t need Mo.

Mo is for the jobs around the match. He lists every payment still missing a receipt. He holds a bill when a supplier’s bank details change. He gives his reason for every answer. When he isn’t sure, he asks you first.

We haven’t tested Mo side by side with Xero’s own tools yet.

Payments matched to billsIn testingOur own real books, 3 Nov: 35 of 37. His exam: 35 of 35, not a blind test.

David Randell

Who built Mo

I’m David Randell. I built Mo on the books of my own company, NU LACE LIMITED, which runs Stubzo. When those books fell a month behind this autumn, Mo sorted them with me in one day: 34 bank lines, caught up on 3 Nov. He asked me about 12 of them, and I agreed with every answer he gave. Nothing went in wrong. Every score here comes from them, unless it says practice set or Xero’s demo company. Questions? [email protected] comes to me.
